Marketing section needs a bigger budget. Presentation is everything.

This Picture is my philosophical take on where we are all headed unless we change our ways.

Great end tables. Someone in a rush to get out of town or maybe bought nicer ones.

Wonderful collection of magazines and video's.

Another philosophical take on where we are all headed to. Note the title of the book.

Christmas is coming and it's time to stock up.

Luggage anyone? Now that we have flat screen monitors, we find many great functional "tube" monitors.
Wanted to bring it home. Needed to fix it up a bit, but had no use for it. Probably sold new for $200.

After every major holiday there are tonnes of "seasonal" novelties. In this case, it looks like spring cleaning. Time to stock up for Christmas.

Albums (probably collectors items, books, shoes, video's, lawn chairs, Christmas lights.

Video's and albums galore. As stores moved to DVD's and Disks many people tossed their "old" stuff. I regularly get weekend movies at the dump. Why download...go to the dump.

In keeping with the Christmas sub-theme, we have many more goodies to take home.

Including the Christmas lights. These are out of "fashion" now. The tube lights are all the rage.

Every week I find many stuffed toys. Most are in great shape, but unloved, and soon to be buried for ever more.

Helmet, wine rack and shelving to go anyone?

Max Ward, one of the great Norther Pioneers. I hope this is not his last word.

Video's for every taste imaginable.

I love the garbage bags with these small household items, especially after a divorce; then there are great finds.

So much for Canada day. When it's all said and done, we just throw it away. Oh oh Canada.

Great hardcover books at the dump. I never go to Chapters. I find all my reading material here. Amazing finds.

More books in case anyone was wondering.

Every week or so a clothing section emerges and people look through the selection. No need to fold and pay.

Of late we've had many CD's show up at the dump. Great games, music, video's.

Desk and monitor for the taking. Why spend $250 at Walmart when you can get it for free at the Yellowknife Dump.

If the previous desk is not to your liking maybe this one will do.

Just in case you were wondering if the desk was damaged or not.

As you can see, the Yellowknife Dump is an amazing place. I've found so many varied objects over the years that I'm almost embarrassed to tell visitors just how much of the furniture we have comes from the dump. Yellowknife is a rich and prosperous place in a rich and prosperous country. I wonder what some of our global friends would have to say about our waste. Until next time.

City to spend $25K a year (5 summer months) to scare gulls.

The City of Yellowknife will spend $25,000 a year to scare the birds away from the dump. The birds are here from May to September. That works out to $5,000 a month. Anyone looking for a good part-time job..Canadian dollars.
